Our Story

It was a frustrating day at work for Yuri, a masonry contractor for over 15 years. His client had a beautiful new multi-million dollar brick house but water was leaking into the home. As a result of poor construction techniques the brick masonry had micro cracks and the home owner was looking to Yuri for a solution. 

 

There were few options available, all of them very expensive, and none of them were pleasant for the home owner to hear.

 

While enjoying a meal at a restaurant with his chemist friend Rich, Yuri related his dilemma and asked if he could come up with a sealer that would fix this common problem.  As usual, Rich’s first answer was “no”.  Yuri then saw his expression change and knew the “wheels were turning” and the answer became “maybe” …. and after a couple more minutes the answer was “I might have something”.

 

This was the beginning of the development work for the BBS sealer line.

 

After a year of Rich’s development work and Yuri’s application to actual homes they came up  with an ideal mix of components that Yuri described in his thick Ukrainian accent as “bombezno” – there was nothing like it on the market. Not only did it seal brick, block, and stone from water intrusion but it also helped his client with his micro-cracks.

 

From this, MidWest Sealer was born.
